I must have started dozens in the past and abandoned them. Why another blog? This one is different. Maybe I finally have something to say after all of this learning about UX, IA, and services design.

I can’t think of any animal in the world that exemplifies customer service and experience design better than my cat Manxy. She is demanding, so much that she doesn’t even drink water out of a bowl anymore. It has to be running out of the tap. Furthermore, she’s even taken to getting bathed by humans in the sink — so this picture captures the essence of creating services for the user — in this case Manxy. Yes, she is a spoiled customer, but aren’t they all…

How will you know if your customers want to drink from the tap and have water patted down their furry backs? You have to study them, watch their expressions, and listen to what they say or fail to say in user tests and focus groups. This is the way to test prototypes, alpha products, and beta web services… this is the title of my new blog.
